Science programme Galileo brought host Stefan Gödde to Singapore, where he spoke to researchers from Cooling Singapore and Future Cities Laboratory.

How is resaerch at the centre tackling the urban heat challenges and how are we using virtual reality to better design cycling infrastructure to facilitate active mobility? Stefan Gödde speaks to the Cooling Singapore team, including principal investigator Prof. Gerhard Schmitt and project coordinator Lea Ruefenacht. The team shared what contributes to urban heat island and what we can do about it.

Future Cities Laboratory mobility researcher Mohsen Nazemi also took him on a ride - virtually, to experience how it is like on alternative cycling infrastructure through virtual reality. The tool could help planners get user feedback on new cycling infrastructure designs before they are built.
